Legs on a chair

Concrete purposeSoften the legs, loosen feet and knees, and prepare a peaceful diffusion of the breath.

1. Settle in

Lie on the back. Place the legs on the seat of a chair.

Release the arms. Keep the throat free. Soothe the face.

2. Enter and hold

Adjust the distance from the chair. Let the legs settle without effort.

Let feet, knees, and legs soften. Let the breath spread more peacefully. Prepare the closing of the cycle.

Desired sensation

Sense the legs softer and the breath more peaceful throughout the whole body.

Success criterion

The legs rest without effort, the face calms, and the breath diffuses relaxation without limpness.

Adaptations, exit and precautions

Simple variationUse a lower support under the legs.

Exiting the postureGently bring the legs back to the floor. Roll onto one side. Return slowly.

Mistakes to avoidTensing the knees. Still seeking action. Coming out too quickly.

ContraindicationsLumbar discomfort depending on the set-up, knee discomfort if the angle is poorly adjusted, significant reflux.

1. Settle in

Stand with light support on a chair, or remain well centered in sitting according to the state of fatigue.

Feel the feet on the floor if standing, or the sitting bones and feet if seated. Lengthen the back of the neck. Release the shoulders.

2. Enter and hold

Let the axis establish itself without tension. Do not seek a spectacular form. Remain peaceful.

Let completion diffuse from the base. Keep a gentle presence. Do not fade away.

Desired sensation

Sense a gentle, stable, and complete closing, without dispersion.

Success criterion

The base remains clearly felt, the axis remains simple, and the breath remains peaceful without fading.

Adaptations, exit and precautions

Simple variationRemain seated with the hands on the thighs.

Exiting the postureGently release the arms. Return to an ordinary position.

Mistakes to avoidRelaxing limply. Becoming fixed. Still seeking effort.

ContraindicationsSignificant standing instability, dizziness, excessive fatigue, difficulty remaining seated or standing without support.

Remain seated with support or lie down, according to the setting and fatigue.

Release the arms. Soothe the face. Support the head or back if necessary.

2. Enter and hold

Let the weight of the body settle. Do not seek any effect. Remain simply present.

Let peace diffuse. Do not slide into limpness. Keep a gentle and awake presence.

Desired sensation

Sense the peace of the cycle spreading without inertia or disappearance of presence.

Success criterion

The body relaxes, the breath remains broad, and presence remains gentle, calm, and inhabited.
